Ravinder Rakhra
B. Com., MBA
Ravinder is known for her authenticity and for leading with integrity and humility. Having been a public servant for 35 years, she retired in 2025 from her role as Vice President, Services and Business Development Sector with the Public Service Commission of Canada. Prior to her four years with the PSC, she spent over 30 years with Public Services and Procurement Canada, working across several branches, with her final role there as Regional Director General. In these roles, she led large teams of up to 380 employees through executive-level direct reports and was responsible for significant budgets.
Throughout her career, Ravinder has enjoyed challenging the status quo through curiosity and finding innovative ways to improve operations, support employees, and support Indigenous communities through the work of the federal public service.
She has also been actively involved in Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and has served as a coach and mentor with communities including the Federal Black Employee Caucus, the Anti-Racism Ambassadors’ Network, and the Association of Professional Executives. She has supported developmental programs at the Canada School of Public Service, including EXLDP and MDP, as well as the Action Plan for Black Public Servants and the adoption of the Building Black Leaders Program in the Pacific Region.
In her coaching practice, Ravinder uses curiosity, powerful questioning, and observation without judgement or interpretation to help clients surface insights and create their own solutions. Her approach is grounded in the understanding that her truth is not everyone’s truth. She creates an environment of trust, respect, and confidentiality, while making space for uncomfortable conversations that can support meaningful growth and change.
Ravinder understands both sides of privilege. She is brown skinned, racialized, an immigrant born in India, able bodied, educated, a leader, decision maker, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and wife. She appreciates the lived experiences that make her who she is while recognizing the many sources of privilege from which she benefits. She brings this awareness into her coaching practice and the questions she asks.
Ravinder holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. She also holds a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of BC, is a Certified Change Management Practitioner through PROSCI, and has a Certificate in Organizational Coaching, with certification as an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation in progress.
Ravinder lives, works and plays on the traditional territories of the Katzie First Nation and Kwantlen First Nation. In retirement, she enjoys long walks in her community in Maple Ridge, BC and is thoroughly enjoying the experience of being a grandmother.
